# How Starlight Works — Map, Build, Test

We start with how the work actually happens: walk through one live process together, rebuild the weak spots, and test the handoff with the people who use it.

## The three phases

1. **Map** — Follow one real piece of work from trigger to finish. Name the people, decisions, and missing steps.
2. **Build** — Set up the board, checklist, or instructions in the tools your team already opens.
3. **Test** — Use the setup during an active week. Fix what is unclear before the handoff.

## Example client flow

Inquiry → Decision → Onboarding → Delivery → Follow-up. (A sample flow; yours reflects your clients, team, and tools.)

## Tools

We work in the tools you already use. Typical areas:

- Client intake
- Project tracking
- Shared documents
- Spreadsheets
- Simple automation

If your tools are doing the job, we leave them alone. We suggest a change only when the tool itself is creating extra work.

## Before handoff, every setup must pass three checks

- **Owner:** one person knows they are responsible.
- **Status:** the team can see what is moving or blocked.
- **Finish:** everyone knows what "done" means.
